Description
"Tonopah Army Air Field was one of many military centers created during WWII. Its mission was to train P-39 and B-24 pilots and crews. The Glide Bomb, a forerunner to the 21st century Smart Bomb, was also tested in secret in the Nevada desert. Presented are the air field history, archival films of the assembly and bomb tests, an interview with a team leader, films of war drops and a discussion with a Nellis Air Force Base pilot on the evolution of Glide to Smart Bombs."
