Description
America as seen through the eyes of a Puerto Rican maid. She is America Gonzalez, brought over by a Westchester, New York, couple who met her in a hotel in Puerto Rico where she was a cleaner.
Description
Based on the acclaimed novel, this harrowing drama centers on a young woman's quest to escape her troubled past and start a new life in America. While the setting of her remote Caribbean village seems picture-perfect, America Gonzalezs life is far from peaceful. When her abusive boyfriend takes away her daughter, she runs away from her island home to build a life in New York City.
