Kazan, Fawna, and Arbey get lost in a canyon and are shown a dangerous way out. When they rest at a public hot spring, a show of Fawna's water powers scares a group of people and they discover that the water demon who stole Elsie has kidnapped many others. Then, a squad of elite warriors, "Messengers of Darkness," tries to capture Fawna and she starts a flood, separating Kazan from the others.
